Set in the basement of my home, my studio is a place of great variety. From large scale oil paintings to miniature pet portraits; there’s always something new going on.
My art is fun, unique, and purely from my soul.
I work with oils, pastels, acrylic, watercolor, ink, and mixed media.
My subjects are entirely original, often based on my own photography. I am exploring painting PleinAir (outside), a challenge in the Colorado sun, wind, snow, etc.

About the ArtistYour Tour Guide
Jill Rumley
I started my creative career when I was given my first camera at the age of 13. From there, I ventured into computer graphics, web design, and digital art.
After a lifetime of excuses and fear, I began oil painting five years ago. I now love to paint in oils, pastel, acrylic, watercolor, and ink. I even play with mixed media by creating compositions with cut-up beer labels!
I am a persistent learner. Since my first oil painting class, I've studied under local artists like Rick Stoner and Lydia Pottoff to learn different techniques and mediums.
When I paint, I am in a meditative state. I will lose hours of time just being in my creative zone.
But finding time to paint is a challenge. I spend most of my days working on the computer doing marketing for the Boulder Art Association and for StudioDoorz. However, I do manage to take photos while I travel. If you're curious, you can check out my photography listing: Jill Rumley Photography
