My private home studio in Corrales NM nurtures me as a multimedia artist. I work with wood sculpture, spray paint, illustration, and found organic materials. My time spent in nature allows me to gather minerals, feathers, and bones for my creations. My creative process involves visualization, sketching, and drawing inspiration from fellow artists. Self-expression through my art is my most authentic means of presenting myself to the world. I firmly believe that art never deceives; it merely reflects what is. I challenge viewers to engage in honest self-reflection and honor their own stories through my work.
Myself and two other artists from New Mexico (Michael Semsch and Jeremy Carlson) are currently transforming a One Thousand Hand and Eye Bodhisattva statue at the TRIP Bodhisattva Studio located in Albuquerque, NM. The statue was given by a Chinese donor about 27 years ago to a non-profit Buddhist monastery located in a nearly inaccessible retreat in the mountains of northern New Mexico. The monks at the monastery sought assistance with the restoration of the sculpture. For the past 7 years, this cross-cultural, collaborative venture has employed local artists who have been painstakingly restoring and transforming the statue at project director/lead sculptor Michael Semsch’s studio in Albuquerque.
