I’ve learned a lot in the process of making my art and getting it out into the world. I share what I’ve learned so maybe you don’t have to learn everything the hard way. (But sometimes you do anyway…)
I make wall hangings, sculptures and jewelry, using my handmade artifacts inspired by prehistoric, tribal and world art. I tell stories with my art, stories to honor and encourage others who can make their own place in the world, too.
In my art journey, my definition of creativity has expanded to include any work that lifts our heart, makes us the best human we can be. I believe using our creativity, and sharing it, makes the world a better place for everyone. I believe everyone can participate in that process. I contribute as an artist and a writer. And maybe other ways I don’t know about yet.
I write about how being a late-bloomer, a mother,, a martial artist (no more), a horse rider, a climber (no more there, either…knees) and a writer, have all made me a better artist.
And….vice versa.
I welcome visitors by appointment to my studio. It’s been called a “cabinet of wonders”, full of all the materials I use to make my artwork. I encourage people to touch my work, pick things up, open drawers, and simply explore. Come see where the magic happens! And be encouraged to make yours.
Re: for appointments, texting is best, email is second-best, and I only answer my phone when I know who the caller is. (I get East Coast AND West Coast spam!)
