I am an explorer and storyteller, drawn to the quiet, everyday objects that often escape notice. Within these familiar forms, I uncover subtle stories that reflect the larger fabric of our reality. Light and texture guide the viewer to look again at what feels known but isn’t.
Working with traditional oil paint on extra-fine Belgian linen, I anchor my practice in the lineage of realist still life painting while intentionally pushing its boundaries. Objects suspended in moments that feel both timeless and contemporary, echoing the uncertainty of the world around us.
With each painting, I construct a visual narrative that remains open-ended—an invitation for viewers to find their own meaning. In the interplay between artist, object, and observer, the boundaries of reality blur, and fresh perspectives emerge from the familiar.

About the ArtistYour Tour Guide
Cindi Yaklich
My journey began with art, though in many ways it still feels new to me. At 18, I started studying fine arts at the University of Colorado. Practicality then led me to a fulfilling 30-year career in graphic design. Yet over time, the fine artist within me grew restless, and eventually impossible to ignore. I listened.
In 2016, I returned to the studio, enrolling in classes and dedicating myself once again to painting — a passion I had set aside years earlier. I am still learning, and that ongoing discovery is where I find the true beauty of my work. I’ve been fortunate to study with wonderful artists such as Robin Cole and Rey Ford, and to participate in numerous online classes and workshops with notable artists including Zoey Frank, Jake Gaedtke, Jane Hunt, Kelly Folsom, Yani Beylinson, Jordon Wolfson, and Terrie Lombardi.
I was born and raised in Crested Butte, Colorado, as were my father and grandmother. I witnessed firsthand the town’s transformation as the coal mines closed and the ski area began to take shape. Boulder has been my home since 1975. I attended the University of Colorado at Boulder and later graduated from the Colorado Institute of Art in Denver with a degree in Graphic Design.
I live in the foothills north of Boulder with my husband, Dave Harrison. Our son, Collin Harrison, recently returned from Majorca, Spain, where he played professional fútbol for eight years, bringing with him his wife Aida, who is now a nurse in Denver.
Today, I am happily painting in my new studio in the heart of downtown Boulder in the Rembrandt Yard Building.
