Working out of my studio in south Boulder, I have two areas of exploration with my oil paintings. The first is the natural landscapes of Boulder, Colorado, and the west. These paintings are generally more “traditional” representations of the landscape with an emphasis on conveying the beauty of our natural environments. The second area of exploration is contemporary or semi-abstract style paintings with emphasis on shape, color, and composition. Vast, open landscapes and architecture are often the subject of these larger pieces. In addition to oil painting, I also produce digital paintings with Photoshop to create imaginary worlds, characters, and images.
