Millicent is a mixed media artist based in Boulder, Colorado, with roots in North Carolina. Inspired by the raw expression of the Southern "Outsider Art" movement, her artistic journey began in her thirties, embracing a self-taught approach that fostered a distinctive, vibrant style. Her work combines bright colors, playful brushstrokes, etched patterns, and layered materials such as paper, beads, mirrors, and found objects.

​Her art is infused with themes of courage and resilience, with each piece crafted to inspire others in their personal journeys of self-discovery. She often incorporates small etched or collaged affirmations, imbuing each work with positive intentions and encouraging viewers to embrace their path forward.

​Millicent finds grounding and inspiration in the Colorado mountains, where she explores with her husband of thirty years and their two dogs. Her connections with others and time spent with her three grown children enrich her perspective. Outside the studio, she’s often dancing to live music or immersed in the natural beauty around her.
