MDB, a.k.a. MDBaird, a.k.a. Micah Baird lives out most of his days in his humble home studio ideating and creating. While mixed media is his favored mode, you may also find a wooden piece in multiple vices waiting for the glue to dry, a new charcoal portrait, lighting for a photo or video shoot, or just warm sunlight illuminating all the art on the walls.
MDB’s work as of late is harder to describe when not standing in front of it together, so you might as well stop by. Plus, the small jungle embedded in the space makes it welcoming for all and it becomes even warmer with a cup of tea.

About the ArtistYour Tour Guide
Micah Baird
"I want people to tune in to the beauty of another story. To stop, take some time with the details, the sensations, the intrigue, the things you may not know, the things I didn’t know, and to listen to the stories of others through the beauty of historical roots, folklore, mythology, and nature. I have felt intentions and connections more from the Divine Feminine side and I've leaned into that as well. I also just find women to be very beautiful. Deeply. Maybe it is more so my wife who has bewitched me to her wondrous ways and I’m projecting that onto all of you. Regardless, benefactors, it’s all about beauty and hair is not only an extension of that, but also of identity. So exploring the breadth of what both can represent when you dive ever deeper within a story that differs from your own is a way for me to uplift all of that and more. Hopefully, encouraging all of us to engage; in the most intuitive and genuine ways, by listening, learning, and imagining. To be the change." - MDB
This series is created using gouache and ink on panel. The panels are found and repurposed hard woods; some from old desktops, scrap wood, or from a "free" pile on the side of the road. All the vintage frames are solid wood and found at estate sales, garage sales and second hand stores. The modern frames are built by hand, by me, and framed in non-reflective Museum glass, also by me. Illustrations created with India ink on Bristol.
Limited edition archival prints available too 😉
