Nature-Inspired Sculptures
I create vibrant sculptures inspired by the organic shapes and forms found throughout nature. My serpentine designs echo the flowing, natural lines seen in the environment, transforming these elements into whimsical installations that captivate the imagination.
Intersections with Popular Culture
My work draws on influences from popular culture, including television and science. These inspirations are reflected in the titles of my pieces, which often highlight the intersection of these worlds and emphasize the commonalities we share as a society.
Feminine Perspective in Public Art
As a female public artist, I bring a distinct aesthetic to the art landscape, reminiscent of the playful sculptures of Nikki de Saint Phalle and the immersive dot environments created by Yayoi Kusama. Through my unique feminine lens, I encourage communities to expand and enrich their art collections.
Elemental Inspiration
The elements of earth—fire, water, wind, and the forces of erosion—serve as my primary inspiration. I abstract the aesthetic of landforms, rock formations, clouds, and the changes brought about by weather and time. Even my metal stands feature a weathered patina from exposure to rain and snow, offering a visual testament to the passage of time and the elements.
Material Contrasts and Color
My sculptures juxtapose shiny, vibrant stainless steel and plexiglass insets against matte, patinaed metal stands, creating striking contrasts. Even when the surrounding landscape is subdued and gray, my works stand out as bright notes, sparkling with reflections and beautiful enamel colors that enhance the sculptural forms.
