Christine Debrosky’s work is distinctive with a soft infusion of light dancing across the landscape.
Her goal in painting is to have the viewer experience the sense of wonder and delight that she felt when inspired by something that made her take pause and take notice. She works primarily in pastel and oil; with the choice dictated by the subject matter and what she has to say about it.
Pastel is unique in that it is pure pigment…with an unmatched intensity in color, and she has become an acknowledged master of the medium. Her oil paintings are luminous, with rich and expressive passages.
Christine has exhibited her work across the US and Europe, garnering numerous awards and accolades along the way. Selection in prestigious exhibitions has earned her signature status in groups such as the American Impressionist Society, the Pastel Society of America, and American Women Artists. She has been the subject in numerous articles in magazines such as PleinAir magazine, The Pastel Journal, Pratique des Arts ( France) . Her studio was featured in a spread in SouthWest Art magazine, as well.
Her studio and home are just outside of Sedona…with views of the famous glowing rocks. It is a custom space that is a dream come true for her.

Christine Debrosky
Christine Debrosky's work was shaped by growing up in NY State's Hudson Valley. There, with a blank canvas of snow in the winter, and every shade of green imaginable in the summer, she learned about color and light. An early interest led to painting lessons when quite young. Add to that the proximity and frequent visits to Manhattan's galleries and museums , which was an invaluable education .
After working in watercolor and oil, she took a workshop in pastel, with a change to a more impressionistic style. She also began exhibiting her work in many juried venues, garnering rainbows of ribbons along the way, such as Europastel, and the Haggin Museum in CA, to name just two. Her work has been featured in books on painting , numerous magazine articles , and on studio sets...Nights in Rodanthe a movie, and Heartland, a television show.
In 2008, she relocated to Northern Arizona, to better paint and learn about her beloved sunlight. She lives in a renovated home with husband Wayne , complete with a custom dream studio.
